• Jacket is flat, has slightly rounded, dog-eared corners; wear is noticeable; retains something more than half of its gloss.

• Label has something more than half of its gloss; lightly worn, spindle marks or discolored.

• Sleeve is original and nearly flat; contains the record, although slightly bent corners, creased, split or torn.

• Vinyl is slightly worn, lightly scuffed; has no more than two unfeelable marks; retains something more than half of its luster and sheen.

As most used records tend to fall into categories 5 and 6, these two numerical shadings are the mid-range, dividing above and below average.
